What Upcoming Movie Are You Most Looking Forward To Watching?

Discussion in 'Tilted Entertainment' started by Split Brain Blues, Apr 21, 2013.

  1. In the vein of 'Last Movie you watched that you enjoyed....'

I'll go first. It's a toss up. Either Pacific Rim or the remake of Godzilla.

I absolutely cannot wait for Thor: The Dark World and the Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I'm interested to see what they do with Catching Fire (second in the Hunger Games trilogy.) White House Down looks vaguely interesting, and I'll probably go see Only Lovers Left Alive, if only for Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton.

Unfortunately, most of those don't come out until November/December, so I've got a while to wait.

Iron Man 3, Man of Steel, Thor: The Dark World, The Wolverine, Kick-Ass 2. Especially Man of Steel and The Wolverine. And even though they're not scheduled to come out until summer 2014, I'm already looking forward to Captain America: The Winter Soldier and X-Men: Days Of Future Passed.

DiCaprio as Gatsby works for me. I'm not so sure about Tobey Maguire as Nick and dont know enough about Carey Mulligan (Daisy).

I hope it doesnt stray too far from the novel.

  7. Saw the preview for this at the movies this past Friday. It looks a lot better than I thought it would. Superman was always one of my least favourite superheroes.

They are doing another remake of Godzilla? That should be interesting given the history of these films being low budget B films with Raymond Burr to more recent high budget B films starring not much of anyone.
Can't think of any films that are begging to be watched by me right now. I am all excited for this Star Trek Renegades series that will be online whenever that is released.

The Great Gatsby (Even without Leo I think it will be good. Why would they want to stray from the original or the book? They're classics.)
    The rest of The Hobbitt
The rest of The Hunger Games

  12. Yes. It is by the guy (his name escapes me right now) who did that movie 'Monsters' a few years back. I believe the script is written by Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, The Mist, Walking Dead). A number of well known actors are involved including Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad). It's currently shooting in Vancouver.

Didn't care for the first American version, other than the effects work.

I paid way too much to see it in NYC when it came out. Those prices felt especially painful when I was used to the $4.25 ticket with military discount down in Mayport/Jax.
On the other hand, Sliding Doors was an excellent film well worth the same price that I also watched while we were in NYC.

With all due respect to Earl Graser who originated the role in '33, I always think of Brace Beemer immediately whenever someone mentions the Lone Ranger. John Todd was a superb Tonto, but it does seem a bit ironic on some level that this was probably his best known role when the Irishman was in Shakespeare plays long before he voiced the indian who spoke broken English.

No clue about the Lone Ranger in any of the visual mediums, never have seen any of those productions. Properly done radio is more visual than television or film in any event if you ask me.
