i think i am coming down with a cold.

 

Could someone please tell Tom Cruise to quit making movies? Unless he's going to cameo or something.
Jack Reacher was horrible and our friends came back from Oblivion and said it was nearly as bad.
I had Eyes Wide Shut flashbacks.

 

I made the most ridiculous white bean chicken chili tonight. I am pleased.

I almost got shot today. As such, I am drunk and lurking because SCIENCE! Continuing the theme of transcendental knowledge, I thought I would bestow upon you all the power word of my people; titty fish.

I miss that part of the old way of filling up. There was always a choice between regular gas and another, usually unleaded. Ten cents more a gallon and they did the work. Good times, mostly gone.

I live in a small, not-flood-plain area where Rolling Meadows, Palatine and Arlington Hgts meet. We are always fine, if not our neighbours down the street on the Salt Creek which floods frequently, Hopefully, things elsewhere are drying out.
Too much wind/rain here of late. Not enough sunny days to dry things out.
Blows my mind when new homes get built on known flood plains.

Sometimes it nice to have someone else pump gas for you, like when it's pouring rain, snowing and high winds.

I really don't feel like going to work today.

 

This is my third day of waking up without a voice. I mean, I have a voice, it just sounds like a gravelly old lush's voice. I had what I consider a very minor head cold last week, no fever, no major aches or pains. Saturday morning I woke up and I couldn't talk. Then yesterday. Now today. I have an exam today at 12, but no lecture (end of semester, yay!) so afterwards I am going to break down and go to the doctor. Hope it's nothing.
