Okay I'm done with this. I'm nerve wracked about being somewhere at 6pm near Grand Central Terminal and NYC has mobilized anti-terror teams. I'm going home.

I have a friend who flew over to run yesterday's 5km race, but his mate was running the marathon today. Thankfully, both are ok.

so nothing has been determined as to origin or motive, but the category is nonetheless being introduced again.
stiffening resolve and all that to follow no doubt.

    nauseating.

My friend in Boston finally got back to me - he was a block away from the finish line and saw everything. Hasn't even made it home yet, downtown has been evacuated, and he's really shaken up. Soooo glad I heard from him, though, I was starting to really get worried.

  14. I had to turn off the news coverage. They know nothing, but keep talking anyway. I'd love to unsee the images they keep showing. It's a horrible tragedy perpetrated by sick mind(s), whatever their supposed motives turn out to be.

Saw raw footage from a cell phone video, really terrible.
It was amazing how many people ran towards the smoke to help.

I'm not watching any of the videos. I saw some of the photos and they made me want to cry and be sick at the same time and I don't normally react that way... to anything really. :(

I have a couple of friends who run marathons and triathlons. So far all of their friends are accounted for. I'm relieved they weren't there.

One of the dead was an 8 yr old. :( *smh*

I had to stop watching the news footage after a few minutes as I recalled the way it went during 9-11. On and on and on.

I will never understand people's need to express their dissatisfaction with the world around them with the wanton destruction and violence towards other people.

My thoughts go out to the child and their family, and to the others who were injured.

Disjointed thoughts - although I'm not much of a runner any more, these are my people. If there is a group that I identify with, it is runners.

There is one guy that I knew in college that was running, but he was well across the finish line when the bomb went off.

I have a 7 year-old that I joke about not liking. There is an 8 year-old victim. I won't be making that joke any more, no matter how much he annoys me. Someone else has a stack of baby pictures that are a source of heartache.

The government classifying something as "terrorism" has very distinct legal ramifications for a bunch of companies, especially if the Secretary of State deems it "foreign terrorism". If they do decide that this is foreign origin, then the Federal government is on the hook for some very specific payouts. The determination could mean a lot in my world.

    I haven't felt this way since 9/11.

You people don't want to hear more out of me on this. No one does.
