We normally go to the craft store. She just knew when to strike. Damn filling Sunday brunch.

We exited the store making no purchases.

Time to shower and get ready so I can pass the rest of the morning on Twitter and the NYTimes and watching CNN while listening to NPR.

Talk about overpaying for an Ace of Base concert. They had better just have them up there for the entire time and make it worthwhile.

Same here. Wait a minute, what does 'undercover' mean again? Something like calling this vehicle an 'unmarked police car'?

Off to brave the outside air during daylight hours. Prepares for the possibility of smoke coming from skin.
edit: Off topic for what I just wrote, but I really should talk to the NAVPERS people in Memphis or whoever else I need to and get my honourable discharge ribbon as well. It will mean getting another ribbon bar for it but I can handle that.

I wish I could go pants free right now. It hurts to wear clothes. (If last time, which was the 1st time I caught poison sumac is any indication, I will be bitching about it for weeks.) Couple of problems with going clothing- free. College- age son home on spring break. I can stop there, I think.

I'd volunteer to warm you up, but I'm 1) too creepy for your tastes, 2) geographically inconvenient and 3) see #1.

I'm rewriting this book in my head. I think I might want to try writing a thriller.

I'm really bad at building tension. I've been considering writing a mystery or thriller in order to work on these deficiencies in my writing. However, I know in truth that my writing will just revert to what it likes to do best: smutty smut smut smut.

Is there such thing as a TFP Gross Bang? If there's not, I might just create it.

I've always stayed away from mystery and thriller novels (by thrillers, I'm mostly referring to action/crime thrillers). They never appealed to me. It never dawned on me that in liking mystery and thriller movies, I might also like the novels. I'm not all that keen on technothrillers or the highly political stuff (especially since it's always Amerocentric), but when it's raw and really well done, I tend to enjoy it. Now I'm trying to think of which films I like most. I know the Bourne films were good (I didn't see the latest one though). I also like a lot of the stuff that JGL has done, like Brick, Inception, Looper, and Premium Rush.

I've also been largely inspired by the game Mirror's Edge.

Man, why didn't I realize this before? I'm proofreading a pretty mediocre thriller (filled with mundanity and infodumps—the pacing is atrocious), and I'm begging for it to do things that it isn't, and when it does do something, I'm picturing how it could go better.

Man...do I have to go and pick up some Robert Ludlum and Elmore Leonard?

You, sir, need to read "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" by John Le Carre. Just to get it out of the way, you're very welcome.
