    Had a great time out with my daughter last night. Gathered a lot of data for my ongoing research. Danced my ass off.
    When they played Marcia Baila by Les Rita Mitsouko, my heart exploded just a little.
    They showed the long, uncensored version of the Girls on Film video, which is always fun to watch.

    Though now I'm onto Piano Trio #2 in E Minor Op. 67, which I'm liking so far as well. (It's part of the same album.)

    Why haven't I listened to more Shostakovich? Why? Someone tell me.

    shostakovich sometimes fall under the category of lugubrious in my world.
    i like the word lugubrious, so you'd think that a good thing.
    but apparently not so much.

    on the other hand, i am actually working my way through copy editing the copy edits. am wandering about somewhere in the wilderness of chapter 6 of 6. i need a sandwich.

    I'm trying not to laugh. Starting at about 0:45, the fourth movement of Piano Trio #2 sounds like a piece of music we're both rather familiar with in an entirely different context.

    Listen to the phrase between 0:45 and about 1:30, and tell me if you can guess what it reminds me of.
