Pointless Announcements

My girls are both masters...of sleeping. Ruff is passed out on the couch and Tumble is sleeping on the bed. Masters of terror? Sometimes, but you're right, Fremen , usually that's Tumble. She's the boss.

 

S'ok. Tumbler is pretty accurate too. She isn't the most graceful of cats.

It's cute--when she does something graceful, she looks surprised, like, "I did that?"

 

Have I mentioned how lucky I am to have the mentor I have? I'm feeling so grateful right now.

Also, I think I will make muffins today.

 

While the muffins aren't ready, I did discover, thanks to Michael Ruhlman's cookbook Ratio, that leftover muffin batter makes an excellent pancake. I would assume it also makes a good waffle, since it has the right thickness.

By comparison, muffins usually involve mixing until moist but no further; there will still be visible clumps of dry ingredients in the bowl. This is how they get their signature crumb. Additionally, the fat used in muffins is typically liquid (oil or melted butter), and there is no creaming involved. Holy cow, all of a sudden it is snowing like crazy. Doubt it's going to last though.
