Pointless Announcements

It's been a while for me but not that long. I quit for the last time a while before Pandaria launched. I think it was at the height of Cataclysm.

I'm guessing they're pushing the expansion on those who haven't played since before its launch. They emailed me two months or so ago with a half-price deal for the expansion ($20!). Now they're offering a free week of play.

I don't want to dwell on these things because I think being a kung-fu panda running around an Asian-themed landscape is fucking awesome.

 

I probably shouldn't tell you this, but compared to Burning Crusade, the Wrath of the Lich King is totally worth it. The environments are spectacular, especially if you like things such as Norse mythology and the idea of frigid lands and kingdoms (not unlike Skyrim and the north realms of Westeros). Killer soundtrack too.

Eh, it's fine if you can walk away from it and manage it like anything else. Pre-WoW, I would set a timer to control my gaming. It still works. I don't game if I have better things to do.

It's not the game's fault you're so weak

 

I am weak. I think if I ever do the panda thing, I'll engage the parental controls to limit my game time. I'd at least set it to log me out at midnight. If I wanted to be more disciplined, I'd only let myself play at certain hours and only two hours at a time...or something.

 

That's pretty much what I do--without the parental controls. I just started playing again after not playing for nearly a month. I'm such a sporadic player that my panda is only level 79.
