    The little girl was wearing these Daisy Duck looking heels and a super frilly dress, and asked if I'd like coffee or tea or a table. She had that super-intense, not-blinking stare going on, and as I turned around to confer with said group of friends, I realized they had all abandoned me. I was terrified.

    I'm running out of options on the tech level when it comes to software and hardware features. It feels like the tech walls are closing in on me. I feel like Han, Chewie, Leia, and Luke when they were caught in Garbage Compactor 3263827 on Death Star I. Except with no C-3P0 to contact.

    It's Oregon's Birthday today. I didn't know that until I wished the Dr. McWeirdo (There are a lot of Dr.Mcs here) Happy Valentine's Day and in response he wished me a Happy Oregon's Birthday.

    That's not why I think he's weird. He's just an awkward science nerd and of course I try to make him act even more awkward because he's the kind of nerd that seems afraid of girls. That's my favorite.

    A student helped me make a little surprise card for my husband. She drew a Dalek and I wrote, "I would never EXTERMINATE our love." I stuck it inside of the actual V-Day card I bought for him like a month ago. He loved it--especially since he sent me Dr. Who Valentines on Facebook.

    We don't normally do Valentine's Day (we don't even have an anniversary), but I was possessed by the urge to cook us some Thai yellow curry to add to the "gift" I picked up my SO: a vampire novel whose protagonist is a witch.

    Am I romantic or some shit, or what?

    Oh, and she got me two bags of Beanitos.

    Hot. Beanitos are awesome. I love those things.

    I'm getting Mark Bittman's Faux Pho for dinner. It's more pho than Faux Pho, though, because I insisted on actual star anise. Next time, we're totally going to cheat by just buying pho cubes from the local Asian market. Have I mentioned I love the Asian market?
