The chain is staked near his foot, and he has taken it behind the stunted tree to he has just a few feet of movement (legal should be 30 with nothing for it to snag on. The tree is its only shelter from sea winds, Just before xmas, this one and another were rescued from the field behind, a salt marsh field, the water was up to their chests. Now it is alone, staked out on a footpath, crying out, distressed, this solitary herd animal. So friendly, this travelers pony.
Anyone with a bucket of black hair dye, night vision glasses and four thick sacks interested in the location - just ask.

I was walking the hound this morning. I thought the tones of colour & the textures of the frozen path looked lovely.

 

It is OK after about 36 hours of nuttiness, including 2 nights with pretty much no sleep. We were lucky tho'. The fire was in the basement in an area that is directly below my side of the bed on the 1st floor. If flames had reached the ceiling...
