this morning i had an eye exam. they dilated my pupils. since then it has been very bright outside. i expect to be killed by buffy.

 

I know your last statement was rhetorical, there is no justification. Look at Chicago. Some of the toughest gun laws in the nation and over 500 were murdered last year. I'm so tired of seeing grieving families on the nightly news. We've descended into a culture where violence is becoming the norm in many areas. And then you add in those who flip out, like in Newtown or possibly today in Texas and we seem to be surrounded by violence. No one thing will change this. There are many wrongs that need to be righted. Gun control alone is not the answer. But it sure has grabbed the headlnes all by itself. Something has to be done. A lot of somethings has to be done. Too many grieving families on the nightly news.

You should spend some time in the military. You'd love how well they keep track of records and files. I spent about 6 six weeks in Asia and the Indian Ocean without pay because apparently I was deceased. Wouldn't have been that bad, I was in the middle of nowhere and didn't need the pay but they sent two officers to inform my wife. On the bright side I think I'm the only enlisted man on my ship who got to phone home while underway (at sea.)

 

This current cold snap can't be helping, either. I recall after shoulder surgery the cold made me just miserable. Hope the meds do their job.

 

Wasted a quarter tank of gas going to campus and back and no one was there to let me into the lab. Crank.

I've been trying to figure out what I personally can do to help effect change and I don't have a bloody clue.

You don't read a lot of YouTube and Facebook replies, do you? It's mostly like that with that crowd.
I'd say I'd weep for our children's future, but if they all start typing and writing like that, how will they tell that it's wrong?
