Took two hours. My left bottom wisdom tooth took over an hour alone. It was quite happy remaining where it was. Ouch. Can't wait to see how much more sore I'll be tomorrow.

I'll repeat what Freetofly told you: ice, ice, ice! Also, ibuprofen along with your Vicodin.

I've been using ice as much as I can handle. The dentist gave me some Lodine for inflammation as well as a steroid. He said he wasn't planning on the steroid, but with how hard he had to twist and yank and pull on the one tooth that gave him problems, he said I'd need it. It feels like I have a golf ball lodged in my jaw bone there already. Ugh.

  10. Do not get a dry socket. Mine were out on a Friday. By Sunday I thought I was doing well enough to do some light yard work. I should have stayed on the couch. Worst pain ever. Tell Mrs Borla you will make it up to her at some point in the future but you are officially out of service in very way until Monday. She can be your nurse, maid, waitress and whatever else you need.

Borla, I've been through childbirth twice. Once vaginally and once via Caesarian section. I've passed a kidney stone and had novocaine injected in my toes. I've also experienced a dry socket and I live to tell you it is right up there with the others on the pain scale. (off the pain scale)

Whatever you do, do not suck and after the first 24 hours, rinse with salt water.

Get a syringe that can wash out the holes.

    (that's what she said)

  13. My oral surgeon told me that the three top pains are child birth, passing a kidney stone and a dry socket.

Joniemack what's the story on injecting Novocain in your toes? I had something similar when I cut the ends off of two fingers and the Dr injected Novocain into the open wound. It wasn't fun but certainly not at the level of a dry socket.

My son had his wisdom teeth removed about six months ago. He was diligent with the syringe but still ended up with a dry socket. He finally admitted to drinking a fast food soda through a straw the day after he got them pulled.

I was having ingrown toenails removed. 4 or 5 injections in each of my big toes, a couple of them right near the bone. I have extremely sensitive feet so for me, it was excruciatingly painful. Much worse than the actual surgery or recovery. The only difference for me was in the fact that the injections were over with quickly. But I don't exaggerate by saying that I nearly passed out from the pain.

I already have a full-size communicator that is non-functional unfortunately, might have somthing to do with no starship in orbit to contact.
Perhaps I can find one of those larger mid 23rd century phasers fully functional online somewhere. I am guessing that ZombieSquirrel has one stashed in her desk at work to deal with annoying secretaries, visitors from the Chicago area, Borla s that are past the 8 grade, etc, etc.

I'm sitting on a train, waiting for it to depart. I'm goofing around on the internet to pass the time. I will continue to do so to occupy myself on the trip home.

I'm pretty sure this was science fiction subject matter not so many years ago. I work with technology daily and sometimes I still can't help but be amazed by it.

I have seamless Internet connectivity across Singapore. I can stream from my door, into the subway, up into my office (including the elevator) and to my desk.

    It used to amaze me.
