Sounds like a great day. Probably gonna be a few weeks until I get down to the shop again. I loaded up pretty heavy the last time so I have plenty to read until then.

Found a blank Avengers card on the net and just couldn't resist. All I need is a cool superhero name...and maybe some superpowers would help too. LOL

  4. This was one of my fave comic books - later released as a film which I will post link to. The story behind the comic book and film is that the author, who drew cartoons and strips - was in his library looking at the govt advice on what to do in case of a nuclear war. That was his inspiration, the absurdity of the conflicting advice given out by the same govt dept.
You will have a tear for Tim and Hilda by the end. They do everything the powers that be tell them to do.

I keep meaning to buy another copy of the book, I loaned mine out, as you do, and never got it back, as happens.

Well, I was able to buy some of the things a comic book store owner was selling, all of his Yu-Gi-Oh collection, around 1200 comics, missed out on the minimates though, but got a few Green Lantern's "Blackest Night" action figures.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas :D

Sounds like a pretty good haul.

I'm not sure I'm going to make it to the comic shop before the holidays. Since its at least a 1/2 day trip for us it's going to be difficult with my son's basketball games having started. He plays on the weekends and that's the only time I have available to make the trek down.

OH you need too, if for no other reason then to pick up Amazing Spider-Man #699, It's the prelude to #700 which Marvel claims will be the end of the Spider-Man comic

Thanks for the heads up. I tend to avoid the superhero comics but I'll ask my guys at the shop what they've heard. May have to make an exception for those 2

OK, Spidey 700 came out today. and I was among the first in line to grab my copy.

Just let say that Spider-Man was the first comic I ever read. and has remained my favorite throughout the years. I love this comic. I identified with Peter so much in high school. Stan instilled many beliefs in Spidey that I have held true too today. It's an awesome comic with a powerful positive character for good.

Now, with that being said....ahem..ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!!!!! Come on Marvel, Spidey deserves much better then this two-bit hack job you have the nerve to call a story. As I read it, I could help but think I've read this someplace before, Oh yeah I did. In Batman a few years back when Batman gave up the cape to that psycho. Azrael. And to think I've been waiting for the last few issues for this. and up till this issue, it rocked. But it's like they just gave up and said..Let's copy "KnightEnd" and call it a day.

I swear I could cry. But if Marvel holds true to form. Peter will be back inside of a year. Hell, I lost count how many times Captain America died.

Argh. I haven't been able to find time to get to the comic shop in weeks. On the plus side I do have a trip planned to Kevin Smith's - Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash at the end of January.

Can't really blame her. :D But seriously, enjoy the trip. one of these days I'm going to have to make a pilgrimage there myself.

While your there you can try to pick up a copy of "Superior Spider" #1. it's suppose to be "Amazing Spider-Man's" replacement. and given the amount of #700 they printed. there will probably be some left for you to get too.

Ah, another Steampunk fan. excellent series. I was lucky enough to score #0 variant with a Bluerainbow.com Exclusive Cover. It was limited to 1,000.

I haven't picked up a Watchmen in ages. but I love the whole dark hero gender. excellent choices of titles Event.

i heard it got cancelled, though temporarily, because DC bought the rights to it although apparently it's still the same writer/artist
