Pointless Announcements

There's a chance, but I'd rather have the rain. Merry Christmas.

 

SE Michigan got just enough snow to cover the lawns yesterday afternoon/evening. I wasn't dreaming of a White Christmas, but we got it. I could handle having it all melted and gone by tomorrow morning, but the forecast is for 3-6" on Wednesday.

We'll soon be off to spend the afternoon at my son's house. The plan is to see Les Mis, the movie, this evening.

Its all about her. The way it should be.

 

This is my twenty-third Christmas, and it's the first I'm spending alone. This is okay for a few reasons:

1) I've been completely and utterly 'peopled out' lately. I'd rather celebrate with myself than be annoyed with my family and/or friends. This is no fault of theirs, and I still love them all dearly and would love to see them, but I'm not in a "people person mood" this week for some reason.
2) This (and these) days off give me a chance to catch up on some much needed housework. My kitchen is well on the way to being cleaned, my laundry is finally getting caught up, my room is starting to look inhabitable again.
3) GeneticShift will be coming to visit me this weekend.

So yes. On this, one of the most joyous of days, have an excellent day, each and every one of you.

 

our summer christmas day became a winter christmas day. out came the long sleeve shirts and jumpers.

this is ridiculous.. this is supposed to be the middle of summer.

The best part of this Christmas by far was teaching my dad how to use the Nook my mom and I got him. He's been playing Angry Birds for hours, and it is adorable.

 

Holiday season car commercials annoy the shit out of me.

 

It stopped snowing! And it's really fucking cold!

 

That's Texas weather for you. One extreme after another.

 

Almost certain the money from my family is going to purchase the $119 Nook ereader. My ipod touch has been "adequate" as an reader but that type and size of screen certainly looks easier to me.

 

I was a skeptic. I thought casting Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe in singing roles was just wrong. I had doubts about Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried and Cohen and Carter as well. But they pulled it off. Magnificently. I saw it with a group of die hard Les Miserables stage production fans and we all loved it! We'll likely be seeing it more than once.

 

I think I'm going for a second time tomorrow.. It was incredible, IMO. Definitely solidified my decision to see Les Mis in London when I go.

 

Hugh Jackman has done Broadway...I have faith.

It's one of my favorite musicals, so I will be seeing it.

 

Is that maximum or minimum shower time I like long showers
