My Blazers aren't doing great and I don't get any of the channels that show the games unless they're on the regular NBC affiliate. 6-9 after the loss to the Wizards tonight. Blech.

  2. Rondo, garnet and humphries ejected after a brawl

i personally think garnet got the short end of the stick here. Rondo deserve the TF, but there wasnt much in the foul by humphries to start off with.

    anyone else agree/disagree?

    Here is video of it:

I wasn't watching last night, so this is the first I'm seeing of it. My initial thoughts are that Garnett looked like he was purposefully trying to kick his leg out for contact on the shot. Probably not worth anything, but shows the way they were playing. I would love to see the 5-6 minutes of the game leading up to that. By the announcers' comments, it seems that Garnett was getting chippy because the Nets were starting to run away with the game. So Garnett sets the stage with that. But I agree with you that Rondo deserves the technical foul, and probably the ejection. I think Humphries getting ejected was merely a reactionary move because he was in the middle of it. I didn't see anything the first time through watching it that deserved an ejection. I think Garnett's technical foul doesn't come on anything he did until Wallace comes in close to him and he throws a forearm towards his head/neck area. It wasn't anything terribly brutal, but probably what the officials saw that made them call the technical. The way Wallace ran in and engaged Garnett is evidently what earned him one.

All in all, I probably would've ejected Rondo with a double technical. He initiated the whole thing, and IMO it didn't even appear to be for any legit reason. The foul on Garnett was not that hard, or deserving of an altercation. I also would've given a technical each to Humphries, Wallace, and Garnett for being in the middle of it and continuing to escalate it. But, based on my first time through watching it, I don't think I would've ejected Humphries.

Upon further review, Garnett is such a pansy. Aside from the flop kick at the start of that play, check the pic I attached out.

He clearly was looking the other way while wrapping his ankle around behind Humphries to make sure he fell when he got pushed. Garnett has a ton of talent, but that kind of stuff doesn't earn any respect from me.

It's no worse than some other team names. If they didn't have the history/legacy what would you think first hearing of the Miami Dolphins?

Decent point. But when I think of a dolphin I think of way cooler, smarter, and more fun to watch animal than a pelican. :D

I'm not a big Kobe fan. It's undeniable that he has tremendous talent and drive. I just don't like the way he handles himself, especially with his teammates and organization. No matter how you feel about Kobe, I think this is a fascinating article. Well worth the read for real NBA fans:

These Christmas Day uniforms in the Knicks/Lakers game are horrific.

Avery Johnson was named Eastern Conference Head Coach of the Month for both Oct and Nov due to the job he'd done getting the Brooklyn Nets off to a good start. Today he was fired.

This Clippers/Lakers game is fun to watch. Chris Paul is tearing it up.

I actually got to watch the end of this one because of a later start at work. Always brightens my day to watch the Lakers lose. :)

Poor Seattle fans. Lose Kevin Durant and the Sonics, now we are going to punish them with the Kings?

Actually, I read a report yesterday that the Maloofs backed out. The offer was for over half a billion dollars, they are going broke, and they said no. Idiots.

  16. When I left the bar, The Heat was up by 22 points or so. Then later when I was home I get an alert on my phone saying that the Blazers had beat the Heat 92-90. I should have finished watching that game.

    My thoughts too. Oops?

Kinda sad I missed Wesley Matthews last-minute threes. That must have been thrilling. A college buddy was at the game last night and put some pics up on FB of the Rose Garden going nuts.

Don't look now, but we have a heck of a Heat-Lakers game going at the half in LA.
