    If it makes you feel better, I'm scheduled to get all four yanked in about 6-7 weeks. The dentist said "Yeah, you're gonna need to be put out, you are NOT going to want to remember what I'm going to have to do to get the top two out." Maybe you can schedule yours to coincide with mine and we can get hopped up on painkillers and whine together. ;)

    My fear is that they'll want to sedate me, which means I'll have to go to the oral surgeon, and I don't want to. I want my regular dentist to yank it out.

    Had two extracted by my dentist. Years ago. Then years later I had two done by an oral surgeon, one tooth was impacted. Having a dentist pull the tooth was much less traumatic, less time consuming and you aren't all messed up afterwards. Would prefer having the dentist extract the tooth, however it isn't for the faint of heart. You are cognizant of everything going on even though you have no pain. There are other sensations that are very unique to that process.

    Do dentists pull teeth any more?

    Yes. Unfortunately, dentist no. 2 was out of the office for lunch at the time of my appointment, so he couldn't come in and say whether he would be willing to do it, as it might be at a weird angle.
