1. We've had very few donations over the year. I'm going to be short soon as some personal things are keeping me from putting up the money. If you have something small to contribute it's greatly appreciated. Please put your screen name as well so that I can give you credit. Click here: Donations

  4. Good point Lindy. Buying from the nearly deads. My friends friend, a gentleman in his 80's dropped his motorbike, crushed his leg - and asked the doctor when he could ride again - never. He decided to sell it. A chap came round who was a dealer, and offered him a price, and the old guy wouldnt accept it. Said he would rather take less money and know that its going to someone who will enjoy it. Hid mercedes was three yrs old, and had the equivalent of a months mileage on my friends car. Dealership offered him three thousand for it I think. He thought that was daylight robbery, so prefered to give it away to someone he knew. He was not short of cash, and he has no family, so he can do what he likes without the financial worries nearly all of us have when it comes to a big expense like buying a second hand car.
Keep an eye open on the small ads. Ask friends to listen out.

Nice. My car was flooded by Sandy. I'm trying to decide if I should hold off for a couple years, buy used, by off lease, by new. At least I don't need it, I just want it. #firstworldproblem.

Do they have Zipcar in NYC? That's what I do here. It's not quite as convenient as actually owning a car, but it's also not nearly as expensive if you don't drive every day. In Toronto I've found that Zipcar plus mass transit makes the idea of vehicle ownership seem a little silly. I want to think that it would be the same where you are.

    Xerxes Bulking.

We have Hertz Rent a car.

WORST car rental EVAR! I'm due for a trip to NYC next week and I dread the fucking rental my company will get me. FML.

Zipcar is available here in NYC. They are about 1 mile to 2 miles away from where we live. It's a consideration for the no car option.

I like not having to reserve the car. When we rented regularly, if you didn't plan like 1-2 months in advance, everything was booked for high demand weekends.
