I love Germans and their work ethics/culture, but sometimes their rigid inflexibility makes me want to slam my face into the nearest wall.

 

I just got given the bird by a guy driving too fast in our parking lot. He drove by me twice doing about 40 and the second time I yelled at him to slow down. His windows were down so I knew he would hear me so, yeah, I got the bird. Lovely character - both a moron and an asshole.

 

Oh, did I say my face? I'm so sorry.

I meant your face.

 

Driving fast in parking lots is a pet peeve of mine because it's so senseless and dangerous. I would imagine that this dude wouldn't feel so churlish and cocky if he hit someone simply because he found it difficult to maintain 20mph for the 60 seconds or so that he was in our parking lot.

 

Looking through the photos of the labs on campus for some marketing collateral. I of course want some diversity in my brochures. Ginger is a minority right?

 

I just closed the reported post that the staff had open to announce Phil's passing. I won't deny that it made me pretty sad.

My two pet peeves about interacting with traffic: folks that don't stop when you're in the crosswalk (it's state law, asshole!) and bicyclists that don't have the common sense to obey traffic laws like stop signs, traffic lights, cross walks, etc. Interesting, those two pet peeves are most likely to make me mad when I'm walking (although not exclusively). I yelled "get a bike with brakes!" to a moron who almost biked over me in an intersection last week. He had something interesting to say, but I couldn't hear him over the stream of profanities coming out of my mouth.

 

THE BICYCLISTS ARE THE WORST! They piss me off the most when I'm a pedestrian too. Fuckers. I shake my fists at them and call them young punks! I almost hit them when I'm in a car because they don't obey traffic laws. They almost hit me when I'm walking because they are assholes.
