    I got punished a lot in school for reading in class. We had ISS (In-School Suspension) in my middle school and I ended up getting sent there for reading (8th grade, I ended up racking up 40+ days). It was a a room with desks on the wall and no one was allowed to talk all day. Teachers send your homework into ISS teacher and you sat there all day in that room, doing homework. It was awesome. I'd finish my homework in an hour and spend the rest of the day reading. The teacher was my Battle of the Books coach, so she let me go to the library at times and read there. It was funny, I got "punished" for reading by being sent to a room where I could read all day.

    Only in the south would reading be a crime.

    (Also, I see your Huck Finn at 9 and raise you Steven King's IT at 10. The gangbang scene in there was the first time I really "learned" about sex.)
