  1. So I organized the Departmental photos for various PR things...websites, marketing collateral, random crap...and today was Dr. McJerkyFace's departmental photo. Uggg...and he looked damn fine. I never really noticed his ass before, but today I saw it before I even knew who it was. I just saw a nice ass in some really nice pants. Then he turned around and I was so pissed to discover the owner of the tooshie I was admiring. I did tell him he looked very snazzy today and although he did say thank you it was in his jerky condescending way. I hate him so much. I wanna go back to when I didn't really know him but had my school girl crush.

Yoga and meditation definitely help me relax after working 3 shifts and being up 24 hours.

I'm drinking an elixir I just concocted as a preventative to whatever it is everyone had around me, both in Toronto and BC. I don't know if I feel it coming on or if it's just jetlag, but I'm taking no chances.

I just ate a huge meal, since I haven't been eating much at all this was monumental. And it tasted really nice :). Full belly, pyjamas on and up to bed to find the dog had decided to roll around in our flooded muddy garden and clean herself off on top of my duvet. sigh.
Clean dog, mud patch for bed.:(

I rely on this when I have any cold or flu symptoms, if you drink enough of it you can get a good buzz feeling. Made a few miles down the road and everyone in Swansea relies on it. Good stuff.

Chloroform? Seriously? That's pretty awesome. I don't think that's available here, but it's not like I've looked for it.

Mine is a home remedy. It includes ginger, garlic, cayenne pepper, and honey in amounts that the average person would consider unreasonable if not ill-advised.

Am I the only one that reads in the shower?

That's probably seriously (and probably should be 'embarassingly') the only reason I get a couple of the magazines I subscribe to in print form. Not much risk in dropping a copy of Sports Illustrated or Wine Enthuisast in the shower compared to a Kindle. :p

Check it out, yo. Won't even take 5 minutes of your time to get you up to speed.

I never understood this. What kinda shower do you have to take to read during it? Mine take 5-10 mins, max 15, and there is no time to stop and read inbetween all the motions and cleaning the body. Do you, like, lean back opposite of the shower head and let the water warm your cockles? :D

No, I read in the shower too. When I was an undergrad, we had no baths in the res hall, only showers, so I would read a magazine while standing under the endless spray of hot water. I do have a bath tub now, and occasionally use it during the winter, but usually I opt for a longer shower than usual.

One of two scenarios happen. One, I set the magazine on the edge of the tub behind the shower curtain. I jump in, wash my hair and other important parts, rinse off, and stand under the water. I'll either stand with my back to the water and the magazine held out to stay dry, or I'll stand facing the water with my hand held up resting on the shower curtain rod, so it's high and out of the water. Or scenario two, I'll stand with the magazine out or up, and wash with one hand everything I can reach, then switch hands and wash with the other.

I seriously have a reading problem. I used to get in trouble for reading too much in elementary school all the time. But it wasn't comic books, it was because I'd be reading ahead in the history book, or a book I wanted to read instead of what class was about. I can remember specifically in 4th grade getting in constant trouble for reading Mark Twain a lot. Don't ask me what I was doing reading Mark Twain at 9 years old, but I loved it. At the end of the year my teacher gave me a leather bound copy of "Huck Finn" that I still have to this day. Back then I was a smart kid who got bored easy in class, so my outlet was to read. Today I'd probably be medicated into a zombie that sat there looking like he was paying attention.

Ah, I see. Well, next to the obvious time constrictions whenever I shower, there is also my pet peeve that I really hate getting pages in the magazine/book wet with my fingers. It's either water prints or constant drying of my hands on the towel/s. I do have a tablet, but then I worry about breaking it with all the water around me.

Exactly the same here. In my primaryschool years, I was a very frequent visitor of my city's public library. I'd read anything from fiction novels to science-related books (mostly natural sciences). Often I'd leave the library with a whole stack of books and return them all within 1-2 weeks, only to leave with another stack.

Later in secondary school, I got into the social sciences and would read books from my schools' libraries for the teachers. Unfortunately, now the only times I read printed pages are during travels.
