they finally announce the launch date for torchlight 2 next week...

Happy Friday! We'll get right to it - we have some news for you:
We will announce our release date

Too many games to play! GW2, and Torchlight 2 are around the corner, I just decided to go through Mass Effect again (hopefully to finally finish), noticed decent prices on ME2 and ME3 on Steam. And now Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 is only $10 as well. Aaand my pursuit of an online degree resumes in a couple weeks to top it all off. GRR...

i've stumbled into a great group of people via a buddy for guild wars 2. they've all mostly known each other awhile from LOTRO and a couple other games and they've already started their own forum just for gw2 and they have teamspeak etc. and they have a good mix of male and female. let me know if you're interested in being recruited. we're all diving in tonight for launch.

I'm quite the casual player, so I haven't lasted too long in guilds. I also will be starting online classes again on Sept 3rd, so that will severely cramp my gaming time.

This weekend is also unfortunately up in the air, but I'm hoping for some regular time next week.

If you guys are okay with a seriously casual player, I'm in, but I can't promise I won't disappear for days or weeks without notice.

    Counterstrike for the win :)
Nothing to heavy to run on my laptop and big fun nonetheless... don't really feel the need for a newer version which just came out.

Amazon has also had some good prices on ME3. My husband is now addicted to buying games on Amazon for download instead of Steam.

Guess I never realized Amazon sold digital download games. Now that I know, it makes complete sense. I've been buying all my music from there as MP3 downloads, why not games too?

I will definitely be looking into this tonight! :D

Looks like Amazon has ME2 download for $5 cheaper than Steam. One question though; why does it look like a lot of games are substantially more expensive if you download them vs what they are if you buy a physical copy?

Also, on a different subject, just from my perspective, compared to a few other MMO launches I've experienced (Fallen Earth, Star Trek Online, Warhammer, etc), GW2 appears to be having rather solid launch. I've only heard of a few non-game-breaking issues. Although player to player mail hasn't been working, and some problems with the Trading Post. Otherwise, I have to say, I'm really enjoying it.

The only thing I don't like is the script in the personal story missions and the voice acting. I think both are pretty lackluster to put it nicely. But otherwise, I can see myself playing this for a long time.

i'll second the notion on gw2. of course it IS an mmo and if there are things about mmo's you don't like, you won't like them in gw2 either, but they've really done everything they can to make it extremely fun and balanced and gorgeous and it runs like a dream.

as for the download thing vs. boxed games, i think it's because a lot of the time a seller will get clearance prices on the boxed ones or have an over abundance, so they blow them out with cheap prices. that said, even downloads get down to ~5$ if you wait long enough.

My favorite multiplayer fps, Gotham City Impostors, has gone free to play on steam.

    Gotham City Impostors

it's a lot like tf2 but with cool gadgets to get around the map like grappling hooks and gliders.

Does Photoshop count as a PC game? I have more fun playing with that than I would many of these newer games (as in post 2003) I suspect.
I was playing Combat Arms but it has been awhile now . I think I was a Command Sergeant Major 3 on there last I played, getting closer to the butter bar.

  18. Guild Wars 2. So far its better than I expected. I dont feel the need to rush max level to start doing end game content. My buddies and I are having fun just doing the normal quests and the world events that pop up.

It's funny you mention not rushing and worrying about end game. The other day, I noticed in chat a couple people already asking about end game. "Will end game suck?" was one question.

What happened to just enjoying a game as you play it? The entire journey should be enjoyable, otherwise what's the point? One reason I jump from game to game so much is because I get bored with content after awhile. GW2 seems like it's going to be a fun journey if you just take your time and enjoy it.
